Question: It's told that engagement prior to marriage between you and a young, beautiful news reader of Malasian T.V. has taken place. Is it true? 

Answer: You know that I often visit Malasia and Singapore to conduct cultural programmes there. The warm reception I get from the fans of both the sexes in those countries has made some people to develop a sense of envy towards me. Because of this envy they spread such rumours. Believing their words to be true, some magazines write gossips. Those who wrote such gossips should have tried to find out that Malasian news reader herself and released her very interview..... Why didn't they do it? A Tamilian's growth isn't acceptable to another Tamil man. So they create rumours. If there's truth in their version let them write boldly! 

Question: It's given to understand that you are in love with a Sindhi (language) girl of Chennai for many years. What's the background of it? 

Answer: A wonderful imagination. I'm a Tamilian. I act in Tamil films. I do live in Tamilnadu. The Tamil films' fans are making me earn my livelihood. When the facts remain so, the rumour that I'm loving a Sindhi girl is a total lie. When I'll marry, I will marry only a Tamil girl. It's certain. Next, why should I marry secretly? If I love somebody or get married with someone I will do it openly. I don't have the need to run away to hide myself. My mother is there who showers affection upon me. There's my father who leads me. I will marry only the girl selected by my parents and I will do so with their blessings. You be patient. You will come to know the truth. Are the few journalists who write gossips that I'm in love with a Sindhi girl ready to establish it with proof? 

Question: It seems you have cut short your film commitments. Is it true? 

Answer: No...I'm indulging in my acting work as usual. 'Sereen Movie Makers'' film "Paarththaen Rasiththaen", directed by Charan, has attained tremendous success throughout Tamilnadu. So I remain very happy. In order to spoil this, some people are wantonly spreading gossips against me. Atleast hereafter they should put a stop to their fabricated stories. Presently I'm acting in "Virumbukiren" in Susi Ganesan's direction, in "Priyaatha Varam Vendum" under Kamal's direction, in "Star" in Praveenkanth's direction, in "Enna Vilai Azhagae" in the direction of Rajkapoor and in "Majnu" directed by Ravichandran. In all these I act in unique type of roles. In general, the current year is a very, very happy one for me. 

Question: The shooting of "Priyaatha Varam Vendum" is going on being postponed. What' the reason? 

Answer: This film might have been released on the Tamil Newyear Day of last April. But due to the producer's delay it's getting postponed. Shalini who acts as my pair in this film even postponed her marriage date because of this film. As per the pre-conditions she laid down in the beginning itself she had requested to finish her portions first. But the producer couldn't do the needful to do so. The producer is now doing things as per the newly made agreement. So the shooting of "Priyaatha Varam Vendum" would resume soon. Though it may get released behind the schedule, it would be received by the audience as a quality picture. Very nice story, very appreciable direction work by Kamal, sweet melodies of music director S.A.Rajkumar, natural acting by the actors and actressesc--all these are the signs for the definite success of this film.
