News - July 25th, 2003 - < Kingslee >
Due to certain reasons and actions, the BGP has been cut. It seemed like a good idea in the first place but it turned out being a bad idea in the longer run. One of the main reasons for this is because we have some competetive people in the clan and it was not wise to put two members up against each other and possably cause a dispute and we were also short of people.

Another main reason is because the first pre-season match of cal is right around the corner. I feel we should be spending more time preparing for cal rather than 1v1 matches. The first pre-season cal match is on aug. 12th. Although we are not doing much preperation other than scrims yet, I am hard at work formulating strats, chatting with my cal im/m friends and thinking up tactics for in game use.

Just to settle any question about strats and preparing for cal, i'll tell you right now how i'm going to do it. I am going to start having 'cal practices' soon. What they are is gatherings of our main cal team and our main backup and we pactice for a while. During this practice, we exchange tactics, strats, and whatever else so everyone knows them and then the main team will scrim on that map using and testing out all of our new strats and tactics. We will do this for all maps but i do not plan to get all maps done before pre-season matches begin or maybe even the real matches. Any how, we will still be doing cal practices through-out cal to go over the strats and things we learned for the upcoming map. (example: we get done playing dust2 for cal and they say that de_aztec is going to be next weeks played map, we will do one or two practices at least to get in shape for that map)

Just a reminder: I do not want any name calling or hurtfull comments from any tg members towards any other members or tg friends. If this happends, come tell me and it will be dealt with.

News - July 18th, 2003 - < Kingslee >
The BGP has made a few changes before starting all official matches. 1st off, the round 1 map played is de_dust. 2nd, We have let two of our good friends, |_e$bian and siGEn into the BGP too remain an even 12 contenders to make the BGP run smoothly since nova and ricky gg have been eliminated from the tournament. So far, we have had 2 official matches and here are the results.

tg | Adam < Rabbit > over tg | eric < killer > [13-11] (ct 8-4) (t 5-7)
Although it was a close match, Eric was continuously recieving lag spikes which lost him a few rounds. although it was not an intirely fair match, adam refuses to rematch him on account that eric matched despite his lag and that eric's lag was not his problem.

siGEn over |_e$bian [14-10] (ct 7-5) (t 7-5)

ALL other matches are taking place tommarow with the exception of shane vs shephen. We have not been in contact with shane for quite some time so we might need delay the exciting match between poufy and magician, both very great players and both have very good chances at winning the BGP.

Either for practice, fun, or other reasons, Many of the BGP contenders have been going head to head against other opponents in uo-matches (unofficial). Here are some of the results and maybe these scores are telling us that the map will definately help a contenders play if known well enough.

tg | eric < killer > over tg | Stephen < PouFy > on de_aztec [13-11]
tg | Stephen < PouFy > over tg | Stevens < Kingslee > on de_dust [13-11]
tg | Stevens < Kingslee > over tg | Navarrete < UsP-MaN > on de_dust2 [14-10]
tg | Navarrete < UsP-MaN > over tg | Stephen < PouFy > on de_clan1_mill [17-7]

Be sure to check the tournament page on sunday for updated results on the BGP! :D

THE BGP IS THIS SAT!

check the tournament page to see who you are matched against. Once you know who you are matching, find that person and make a time that fits both of your schedrules for sat. Once a team has chosen a matching time, come tell either me or vince. Plz make sure you do this so the bgp runs smoothly.

The following people have been kicked out of tg; yas, gl0w, johnMcClain for inactivity and nova for other causes. Wether to kick ricky gg is still pending. Because of nova being kicked and ricky gg's inactiveness, they have been disqualified from the tournament. There for, we are matching the two contenders whos opponents are no longer in with each other which will be eric vs adam. also a very good match. check

Team Golden Tournament Summer 2003

The new matches will be changed very soon.

just a reminder: make sure all people on the cal team are present for most scrims!

Ok guys just some news for the Cal team. We are having a very difficult time deciding who will be on it, and what map they will be on. So far, with what we've seen, our cal team will include UsP-MaN, Rainbow, killer, Poufy, r0bzers, Magician, and riCkyz. If you are not on this list it is because we have not seen you enough to put you on the team. I know it's summer, and that you people have lives, but the point is you are not very dependable. We can't put someone on a map and have that person not show up. Sure that's the use of subs, but if you're not there for your own map, then there will be no point in you joining Cal.

Our next map will be de_clan1_mill. We will be starting clan1_mill the 15th. The next map will be de_train, and strats will begin this Friday.

News - July 9th, 2003 - < Rainbow >
Hey guys. Just 2 quick things -

1) We have decided that we are just going to do some quick moving through the process of making strats for the basic cal maps. We are just going to spend like 2 or 3 days on that map and then move on. Once we have done that, We are going to spend a lot of time on the unfamilar maps such as clan_1_mill and comrad. Once we are in cal, The map we are going to be playing the next week is the one we are going to practice on that whole week until that match.

2) were going to try something new and fun soon. The BGP or (best golden player) will be starting on Saturday July 19th. This is mostly for fun but it is also to proove who is the best player in golden. The first map will be de_dust2 and all matches will be held that day. If one player can not make it that day. It will be reschedruled for a later time but in order for it to be reshedruled, you must tell me at least a day in advance. How we will be doing it is double elimination. After the 1st round was played by all players, Winner plays a different winner and loser plays a different loser on a different map. If a player loses twice, he is eliminated. All players play other players with evenly matched mecords until they get 2 losses. The last 4 players will be playing on a new map which they do not know so they will be playing on only skill and not how well they know the map. They will also be asked to record demos so the people can watch the match if wanted. Further infromation will be posted later.

Okay guys, This news is long but its all important stuff we have not been able to present because of the lack of site. Also, take a look at Vince's news right below mine. Have fun reading :D

Taking Action - First thing on my mind is how much leadership measures i have been taking recently. Since finals have begun. The clan has never really resumed normal conduct. What I mean by this is practices, inactivness, and so on. I've realized that I need to start taking the same actions as i did before to keep the clan well prepared for cal.

Kicking Inactives - I have givin all the inactive people many fair warnings and to some people, it just seems like they do not want to participate with the rest of the clan. So i am giving one last warning to these people before i kick: YaS, JohnMcClain, and glow. Steelwolf is excused because of computer problems. He should be joining us soon.

Recruiting - We are no longer recruiting any new members into team golden. I feel we have a strong enough team for cal and scrims. It is already an extremely very hard choice to only pick 5 people per match in cal with about 8 or 9 people I want in the roster. So with this delema, We are going to be rotating the roster up acording to what map the week is on. The roster will be made based on how much a person has practiced with us on that map, how well they are on that map, and what possitions a person has trained to cover during scrims. People will not be able to participate in all matches so dont expect that. I'm giving everyone a fair chance to participate.

Cal is coming up very soon and we are going to start working very hard to get on top of everything we can in preperation for it. This means making strats for all maps, getting to know them all very well, practicing on that map, and creating a roster for that map. So, to prepare for all maps in cal, We will be having many scrims on that map for a certain period of time. Eric, Vince, and I will be creating strats for the map and then we will be trying them out with different rosters. When i feel we have Finalized strats, practiced possitions and gotten to know the map very well, We will move on to the next cal map. You guys do not need to ask to be able to scrim either. If i'm not here, continue with the practice as long as you want.
And as long as im on the topic of cal, I want everyone to go to www.caleague.com and go to the rules section of cal o and read them through completely. I want all the members of the cal team to know these rules very well.

Practices - We will start running practices again soon. What we will do is just basicly finalize that strats for a while and maybe create some more that we want to try, then we will scrim. If we really want good practice, Vince and I recommend scrimming cal-im teams. Even if you lose, If you keep scrimming good teams, You will get better.Practices will run anywhere from an hour to an hour and a half. I will be talking to members indivisually to set up a practice time to *TRY* to fit everyones schedrule.

Tag - Despite the many attemps to change the tag, all have failed compared to tg |. Heres how I stand on tags; I want tags worn at all times but as long as you have the tag, I dont care what name you have. But for scrims, I want tg | Surname < handle >

well....that was long :P hope you guys have a better uunderstanding on a few things going on recently and I hope you like the site as much as I do. :D
Frag On Men!

News - July 4th, 2003 - < UsP-MaN >
This is the new Team Golden Website. We created this new site to 1 - make the site more orginized and 2 - to make a 13373|2 site for everyone to look at. The site has been a little bit slow in the building of it but it will be totally complete when I am done with Summer school. Most of the pages are not fully completed yet, but we are just making the website public so that you will no longer be lost on the subject of "What's going on with the clan?" This will be the only news that I will be posting. TJ will be updating you guys on everything when he gets back from his Aunt's wedding.

As most of you already know, I am in summer school to earn a Grade 12 English Credit so I can have a spare next year. As a result I will not be playing CS for about 3 weeks. That means that you guys are gonna have to play CS without me. It's sad...I know. But please hold your tears back. My last day of summer school is July 24th, so I will be back around then.

If you look at the Rosters Page, it is nowhere near completion. So please do not assume that if your name is not on there, you have been kicked out of the clan. It's just that we're too busy right now to finish. Sunday night will be when TJ posts more specific updates regarding clan practices, scrims, and other things of that nature.

Now I would just like to leave you with a phrase that I heard from my last LAN TOURNEY which took place yesterday.
"If the enemy is within range, you are too." :D

Good Hunting :D
