THE FRANCES HERNÁNDEZ TEACHER-SCHOLAR AWARD

Since 2001, the Conference of College Teachers of English in Texas has presented this annual award in recognition of outstanding teaching and scholarship and in memory of Dr. Frances Hernández, a longtime member of CCTE.  Recipients of the prize should manifest the levels of excellence in teaching, scholarship, and service exemplified by Dr. Hernández.

Nominees for the award should have demonstrated dedication to the profession through:

The recipient of the award will receive a check for $400 and a plaque in recognition of exemplary professional achievement.

The next award will be presented at the Saturday banquet of the 2002 CCTE annual convention.

Nominees for the award must be CCTE members in good standing at the time of nomination.  Nominations  (including self-nominations) may be sent, together with supporting documents and rationale, to the CCTE President by Sept. 15, 2001.  Applications should contain:
