  • Research Engineer in the field of TCAD (Technology CAD) for microelectronics. Current research project is modeling and simulation of wide bandgap semiconductor devices.
03/1999 - 07/2000: - Institute for Industrial Electronics and Material Science, Vienna University of Technology (TU-Wien)
  • Industry Project work on Design and construction of a Computerized Numeric Controller (CNC) for electronic beam machine. Modeled and developed VHDL for ASIC design and used ACCEL EDA for PCB and the corresponding circuit schematic design.
01/07 - 30/09,1996/97/98/99: - SIEMENS AG Austria; Programming and System Engineering (PSE)
  • Developed a simulation and testing software for C++ classes, performed different types of tests and analysis on Network Element Management System software package for the Transport Network Management System / Specific Element Management (TNMS/SEM) project on a Win-NT platform using C++, Clearcase software configuration system and Versant data base system.
  • Developed a software to convert binary codes of a CHILL compiler output into IEEE- 695 standard for MUFOM using C/C++ on a Win-NT platform on the Message Buffer (MB) project for routing protocols and trunk interface on the Switching Networks. 
  • Developed an automated software testing tool using Test Script Language (TSL) and X-RUNNER testing package on SUN SOLARIS 2.3 OPS on the project of Operation Administration Maintenance Terminal (OAMT) for the NK-2000 switching center which is the main part of Synchronous Digital Hierarchy (SDH) and Plesiochronous Digital Hierarchy (PDH) transmission networks.
  • Developed Network Node Interface (NNI) and Network User Interface (NUI) using TCL/TK on SUN SOLARIS 2.3 OPS for the Operation Administration Maintenance Terminal (OAMT)/NK-2000 switching center project.
10/1989 - 09/1994: - Medical Equipment Engineering Service, National Scientific Equipment Center/Ethiopian Science and Technology Commission (NSEC/ESTC).
  • Engaged in research and study oriented towards the local manufacture of scientific equipment. Participated in the preparation of scientific equipment purchase specification, surveyed commercial markets and established contacts with relevant companies at the technical level. 
  • Prepared plan and specification and performed test measurements of new equipment, assuring that equipment facilities met international standards, units are properly patented and free from defect, Sought ways and participated in the need to strengthen training of engineers on existing and new products for upgrading technical caliber.
