Hello again and thanks for dropping by...
Whilst we enjoy ourselves in relative safety many others may not know where their next meal is coming from, even whether it is safe to go out and look for one. How can this still happen in 2007? Where have we gone wrong, why can't we fix it?
I hope we learn to engage with each other more, have the conversations which open our hearts to each other and our minds to the possibilities of peaceful co-existence and the absolute waste of conflict and hate, ignorance and prejudice.
Ponder upon this; everytime someone tells us a lie ask yourself what was the great risk of them telling us the truth? What was the awful thing they were willing to hide by lying? Then ask yourself if it's appropriate and how long you'll continue to accept it? Don't we all deserve better? When politicians lie people die and there are so many of our fellow human beings who are being slaughtered all on the whim of those pushing their own political agenda. That agenda all too often is nothing more than imposing someone else's view of how someone else 'should' live. Many of us may be thrilled that Saddam has gone from Iraq but how many of us know what the people of Iraq want now? When were they last asked, what did they say - is it the same view the 'coalition of the all too willing' is pushing?
We're living in a world where cartoons, offensive and unnecessary can bring danger to a whole country. Where just discussing ideas can get you imprisoned and where fear becomes the cornerstone of our political decisionmaking. Is that the act of a civilised world? Is that the actions of a mature, thoughtful and sophisticated generation in the 21st Century?
Let's start asking the questions, let's start talking!
Every happiness always T (Aug 2007)
