Casting the *Circle*!
Casting the circle is the basic action of magick in Wicca. Knowing how to do it is important, so here's a site on this!

The Circle is a witch's holy place. This is the place where she or he regains strength. This space is personal, and can be used for meditation and healing. Magick is usually performed in the Circle.

The Circle is physicly a space where there is room for one or more persons, an altar, and sometimes other magickal items.
Sometimes flowers, salt or soil is placed in a Circle to indicate where the Circle ends.  The spiritual meaning of a Circle is to make a special energy-field.

This is how it's done:

It can be helpful to sit and hear you're inner silence before you cast the Circle. Make sure that you're ready when you start.
Most Wiccans believe that the 4 elements of nature, earth, fire, air, water
are some kind of spiritual forces. They are related to the 4 directions,
north, south, east, west. Therefore it's usual to start by invoking the powers of theese forces.
(If you're interested, i suggest that you read more about the gatewatchers.)It is usual to have something that symbolizes each of those forces in the Circle.

Earth=salt\soil
Fire=a candlelight
Air=incense
Water=water\wine

Often, special words are used to invite the Elements to a Circle. Find out what works best for you.
After invoking the Elements, invite the Horned Hunter of the Sun
and the Lady of The Moon to your circle. Do you feel anything special after doing this? A sensation somewhere on your body?
Some get goosebumps or chills at this point. An offering like a flower, etc, can be made to show your apriciation
to the Gods.
After you have done what you were supposed to do you thank all spirits present and close the Circle.
