Te Puna Play Centre Opening!
The Te Puna Play Centre was officially opened at a ceremony attended by 85 parents and children. The president, Mrs. Penny Chinnery-Brown said the Centre building represented six years of fund-raising and cost $16,000. Grants were reseived from the Government ($5000) and from the Tauranga County Council and the Government also supplied a loan.
The MP for Kaimai, Mr. C B Townshend opened the centre said the centre which had been in use for 6 months, served a dual purpose. As well as helping children in the area it was a means of parents meeting one another.
