Summer came and went. I wished it would linger, but alas,
Madame Autumna held sway and with the gradual snuffing of
of sunshine, the trees respond with a volley of color that
beckons my camera drink it in.

And in this fair place amid the expanse of nature I find
myself a foot in the pure air and pure light that sings the
passing of seasons, yet stands the test of time that ages
have engraved for us to read.

Some people may wonder about the name "Devils Lake". Spirit Lake
was renamed "Devil's Lake" after some French explorers saw
"spooky shadows" cast from the bluffs. Spirit Lake is probably
more appropriate now because as you walk the trails and picnic
grounds you encounter many park benches with memorial plaques
to people who passed away. Like that was their favorite place.
It sure is one of mine too.
