THE WORLD OF TRINITH Trinith is a world of powerful magic, ringing steel and high adventure, where heroes strive to defeat foes both epic and mundane. Heroes come in many forms on Trinith. Elven Warrior-mage Elnish Arundel leads an unending crusade against the Unikkan Confederacy- human barbarians twisted by demonic alliances and fell magic into creatures defying description. The Kingdom of Mastagir, beset by political strife in the wake of the recent death of its monarch, boils over with schemes and political infighting as a young, widowed queen maintains a fingernail grip on the regency for her 9-year-old son. Many strive for fame and fortune; some seek power at any cost. Still others hope to revive the power and glory of the long-lost Hesnekk Empire, lost to barbarians and their demonic allies nearly a millenium ago. Those who thirst for glory and fortune on Trinith have many tasks before them. Some find their calling fighting the Unikkans, while others search new realms for answers. Adventures abound, from exploring the ruins of the Hesnekk Empire in the north, to finding allies in the beguiling palace intrigues of its former southern colonies. In this world one's wits and skills may not be enough. Sometimes, one needs the aid of wise scholars, cunning nobles, powerful magical items and haunted mystice tainted by dark powers. Great risks can bring great gains- or a quick demise. The demon-led barbarian invasion of 562 has left a legacy in the form of the Scars, tormented lands warped by abused magic; many Scar zones abound in the once powerful realm of Hesnekk. Possibly the unexplored Grey Lands to the south and east, rumored to be the home of an ancient, reclusive realm, hold the secrets to reclaiming the once mighty Hesnekk Empire. Perhaps the hostile, twisted Unikkan tribesmen, led by Sabian the Dark, can be convinced by cunning diplomats to yield still more secrets. Unikkans, the shape-shifting, demon-influenced descendants of the human invaders of centuries ago, have settled all over the former Hensekk realm. Their dealings with the lower planes and powerful, rare magicks have turned them into a race of twisted creatures, evil and treacherous. They are no longer quite human. |
