Welcome Back To KnowYourRoleAndShutYourMouth.com! TEKK has been away from the site for quite some time now and so much has happened! Well, first off, Melissa and TEKK have been dating for the last 7 months and things are going great. We ended up moving out together and getting a duplex. It's an awesome place with plenty of room to stretch out. A big deck in the back, big front stoop and a HUGE basement (that TEKK has turned into a home theater and coming soon...a BAR!). Good thing, we share it with 3 of our friends! Everything has been pretty smooth, except for a few snags... First was the Storm of the Century that hit Rockford on the July 4th weekend. This sucker knocked out half of the city and the surrounding area for about a week. We just got moved in the previous week, and were settling in for a fun holiday weekend, when it hit. 4 a.m. we get woken up by the sound of endless thunder.
TEKK gets up and looks out the front window just in time to see lightning strike the tree across the street! It then proceeds to fall onto some power lines and drag them down. Before we know it, the powerline is surging fire and electricity about 20 feet into the air. All the while we have horizontal rain pouring down. Thats when it becomes apparent that we are gonna have a flooding problem. Heidi's bedroom windows start leaking first. TEKK then decides that it woud be smart to check the basement (where he keeps his computer and home theater! AAHHH!!). FLOODING!!! Water is rushing in from the upstairs and through the air conditioning vents! Just then, the power goes out..... We ended up having no power for about 5 days. TEKK was unable to do anything about all of his stuff sitting down there. It caused us to lose $130 worth of groceries. The heat was unfuckingbeleiveable. And it was supposed to be TEKK's vacation from work! Worst freakin' vacation ever!
Anyway, we all got through it and everything was fine....for the most part. Barring a few little annoying things here and there, the new place has been a great (and STRESSFUL!) experience. TEKK wouldn't trade it all for anything though!
Oh, by the way, TEKK finally got high speed cable internet and boy howdy is it the shiznit. TEKK is hard at work on hooking up a 24 hour-a-day webcam (TEKK has tested it out a few times and it works like a charm...but there are still a few bugs to work out), so be on the lookout for that. Just drop on over to the WEBCAM link every now and the to see if it is up yet. It shouldn't be too much longer. TEKK is also hoping to FINALLY have some downloadable content for everyone now that he has some online space to utilize. TEKK will update again soon, so keep an eye on the site! It's a new beginning!
