FINAL FANTASY TACTICS REVIEW

HERE'S A SHORT REVIEW ON FINAL FANTASY TACTICS

Final Fantasy Tactics is different from your average FF game, most people would think by the name that it's just another Final Fantasy, well it isn't. Final Fantasy Tactics is more of a strategy type RPG. What makes this game so unique is the battle system, there are random battles but they are fought differently, each battle is run on a chess type format, before each battle you choose four characters in addition to the hero which makes five, these characters and the enemies are then placed across a board like pawns in chess game, like any other SquareSoft RPG, each of the characters have "active turn" bars, when a bar fills up that characters turn comes up and he/she is able to do a move, when the move is executed that characters bar empties out and the next character goes, of course enemy turns will be in the mix as well. Each character has a list of abilities that come up when they're ready to move, these include "Act", "Move", "Wait" and more. Each character can do one act and one move in what ever order they wish. These battles continue througout the game with little stories and plots in between. Story wise, Final Fantasy Tactics is not different from other SquareSoft RPG's and it definetly meets Square's standards, with 20 job classes, over 400 techniques total, mind blowing special effects, an excellent soundtrack, and a very deep and involved story line with characters that come alive right from the beggining. For those of you who like strategy games with great stories I recommend you buy this one.
