COMPANY PROFILE:
TATA CHEMICALS LTD. (TATACHEM) is
one of the largest integrated inorganic chemical complex with an annual
turnover of more than 1550 crores and manufactures Soda Ash, Caustic soda,
Liquid Chlorine, Hydrochloric Acid, Bromine, Inorganic Bromides,
Ordinary/Pozzolana Portland Cement etc.

POWER PLANT.
ABOUT POWER PLANT:
This is a coal/ lignite based
steam (550 TPH) / power (75 MW with export to GEB) generating facility wherein entire steam generation is used in
various processes. However, steam is
generated at higher pressure than required and passing through steam driven
power generating sets reduces pressure.
Thus power is generated as a sort of byproduct. This is a very important utility and
operation of entire complex is dependent upon it.

NATURE
OF DUTIES IN PRESENT EMPLOYMENT:
· Responsible for performance monitoring and routine/annual
maintenance of CPP including startup, shutdown, trouble shooting, maintenance
of operational records, safety standards with pneumatic & distributed
control systems (DCS).
· Working Experience (i.e. maintenance/ Operation /
Starting / Stopping) of the following Types of
Boilers and its auxiliaries and other associated equipment.
·
Pulverized Fuel Fired High Pressure
Water Tube Boiler (136 TPH/ 1550 #psig) make Combustion ENGINEERING INC. USA.
·
CFBC High Pressure Water
Tube Boiler (200 TPH/ 1550 psig, 565 Deg' cen') make Krupp Industries; Pune.
· AFBC Medium Pressure Water Tube Boiler (45 TPH/ 450 psig) make
Cethar Vessels Limited, Tiruchirapalli.
· Total 55 Mw Turbine - Generating sets with Back Pressure and
Extraction Turbines & condensing turbine.
· Boiler operation with steam / power
distribution, balance of the whole chemical complex.
· Responsible for boiler
maintenance, which includes inventory
& spare management, boiler pressure parts, I.D. & F.D. fans, roots
blowers, centrifugal pumps, valves - steam lines & its selection/lay out,
water chemistry & chemical dosing, Fly ash conveying systems, electric
& turbo feed pumps, de-aerators, esp., bag filters, coal conveyors &
feeders, screw coolers & conveyors, pulverizers, burners & furnace. ISO
& IBR documentation. Fuel management & its auxiliary’s maintenance.
· Also additional charge of plant procurement.
