What must a Jedi do and not do?

A Jedi must uphold justice. They must act if injustice is being done, because inaction is the path of the Darkside. They must protect the Force and all beings. They must be true to themselves and their friends. They must act in intelligence. A Jedi must adhere to the Code. A Jedi must never use the Force needlessly or for selfish ends.

A Jedi must not give into hate. A Jedi must not give into passion.  A Jedi must not act in anger.  A Jedi must not kill unless it is too protect the common good and there is no other way around it.

What is the Force?

The force is nature, it is all around us and penetrates all things. The Force is neither controlled or controlling-- it is a part of life itself; asking if it controls or can be controlled is like asking if a person controls his component cells, or the cells control him. Laws such as physics cannot explain the Force. It is not static and changes with nature. It is and always will be.  As Obi Wan said, 'The Force is what gives a Jedi his power. It's an energy field created by all living things. It surrounds us and penetrates us. It binds the galaxy together.'

What are the Jedi?

A Jedi is a being that can call upon the Force by means of midichlorians, a species that is a symbiote of Jedis allowing them to call on the Force.

What is a Padawan?

A Padawan is a young student of the Force. During the height of the Old Republic, beings who were strong with the Force were identified at a young age for training, often before their first year of life. Young beings were transported to the Jedi Temple on Coruscant, where they were brought up to respect the Force and the life it suffuses. Trainees were allowed to train until they were chosen as Padawan learners by a Jedi Master, or until they were thirteen years old. If a learner was not chosen as a Padawan by his thirteenth birthday, it was decided that the young student would never have the drive and skills to become a full Jedi Knight, and they were given lesser assignments by the Jedi Council. Each Padawan was distinguished by a short, close-cropped hairstyle which was accented by a thin braid. The braid's length, together with small beads braided into the hair, denoted the Padawan's level of training. On the occasioin of a Padawan's thirteenth birthday, solemn reflection and meditation were required by the student, and the Master often gave them a meaningful gift.

How do you personally access the Force and what does it feel like?

A Jedi knows his powers by feeling the force flow through him and feeling the Force’s will. I access the Force by deep concentration. I feel a rush of Light sweep across my body and pulsing into infinity. I touch upon all points of the universe yet am infinitly intimate with the most minute elements of being. I see all and see nothing and in that brief flash I hear the voice of the Force, whispering its will. When one uses it the Jedi must negotiate with the Force, because the Force will only act for good, and to break that code brings one to the Dark Side, and as we of the Force know, that Dark Side is a very harsh mistress.
