My name's Robert, but I'm an informal kind of guy, so I usually just introduce myself as Bob. I answer happily to either, so choose whichever feels right. <grin>
I'm 45 (as of May, 2001; the clock is ticking, the clock is ticking...)
I'm 6'3", stocky with a linebacker kind of build and pretty furry, so I'm usually thought of as a big ol' bear.
And since I tend to be a real hugger and a hard-core cuddler, it is natural that I've gotten the nickname "TeddyB", since I'm really kinda like a teddy bear: loyal, huggable and always there for my friends and family.
I'm originally from California, but have lived in Canada for the past 2 decades, and Toronto feels like home to me now, though I still retain close ties to family and friends in the 'States.
I'm single, and not in any great hurry to change that. I've been in love a few times and had one relationship that lasted for ten years, but for now, I'm content to be on my own and to enjoy the company of a close network of good and loyal friends.
I take friendship seriously, and always try to treat people as I'd want to be treated. I believe in simple but basic values like honesty, integrity, loyalty and trust. I am very lucky to have a very good circle of friends who believe in the same things, and I know I can count on them, as they count on me.
While I'm serious about my core values, I'm not serious all the time, and in fact, I'm usually noted to be quick with a joke and a laugh, and I'm a pretty happy guy most of the time.
I have a very strong intellectual curiosity and a wide range of interests, and I like to try new things and enjoy whatever adventures life may hold in store.
My interests include music (of almost all kinds, but with a real love of pop music from the '50s through the '90s, as well as folk, swing, big band... LOL I guess I love it all), movies, travel, computers, telecommunications, home electronics, and a whole lot more.
Professionally, I've worked mostly in the banking business, though over time my career has moved further and further from real banking and more into the systems that deliver services like ATMs, Internet banking and things like that.
