Jeannette's
Family Search
Between 1820 and 1860 many Europeans immigrated to Peterborough County, Ontario, Canada in various settlements. Many of my ancestors were part of these groups primarily settling in Asphodel, Douro and Dummer Townships. This site will introduce you to them and tell you where they settled.

While just beginning, my family search is focused on the area around my home.  From 1831 when two great-great-great-great-grandparents came from England to 1858 when great-great-grandparents came from Ireland they all chose a part of Peterborough County to call home.

Many of these individuals raised large families and most established farms that allowed them to create their family home.

- Visited most local cemeteries.
- Started my search of newspapers which will be a never ending task.
- Reviewed census records on microfilm.
- Started taking "how-to" courses to learn the fundamentals.
