The Tecumseh Roundup Club was founded in 1960 by local community members with a love for horses and the wish to bring their children up around a family oriented sport. Over the years, they have hosted events from rodeos, horse shows, team ropings and pennings to barrel racing and playdays. The Tecumseh Roundup Club arena is located on the southwest edge of Tecumseh on old Hwy 18, at the intersection of Highland and 12th Street. It is situated on 6 acres, with a full sized rodeo arena, warm-up arena, clubhouse with kitchen, restrooms with running water, adequate parking and event seating. The arena fence consists of pipe, sucker rod and cable. There is electrical power to the arena, both 110 and 220. There are lights for night time productions. Municipal water is supplied in the buildings, with a hose for livestock water at the southeast end of the arena and firehose hook-ups on the north end to water the arena for dust control. There are three gates entering the property from paved Hwy 18. The south gate can accommodate a semi's length and width. The drives are gravel and sand. |
