The days were
just getting worse and worse for Matt. First, the best
thing he ever had kicked him to the curb. Then, he found
out that he had to drop the Tag Team Championship back to the
Acolytes on the Pay Per View match they had scheduled for the
night. Matt cherished his belt just like he had cherished
Amy. He and Jeff were only the best tag team in the world
for two weeks but he was thankful that the WWF gave him a chance
to do his thing. Still, ever since Amy left him, his life
was missing that one thing to make him complete. His life
wasn't as exciting as it used to be. It wasn't as fun as it
used to be. Things just weren't the same and that just made
Matt very depressed. He never realized what he had until it
was gone.
Matt slowly walked into the locker room with
his belt slung across his shoulder to plan the match. Faraaoq,
Bradshaw, Michael Hayes and Jeff were there waiting on him.
He saw down on the steel chair and looked up.
"Been waiting for you, boy." Bradshaw said.
"Yeah, I know. I'm sorry. I just haven't been
myself lately."
"What's wrong with you?" Faraaoq said.
"Don't ask." Michael and Jeff replied.
"It's alright. I can talk about it now. My
girlfriend dumped me."
"Awwww!" Bradshaw said as he messed up Matt's hair.
"So all this is over some girl?" Faraaoq asked.
"Oh, you done fucked up now." Jeff said as he got
comfortable.
"She isn't just some girl. She's a woman. The
lady of my dreams. A woman unlike anyone else I have ever
met. She's special...more than special...she's a fuckin'
angel and I'm miserable without her." Matt said in a serious
tone.
"I told you. Don't ever talk about Amy. He'll go
off on yo' ass." Jeff said to Bradshaw and Faraaoq.
"That's her name?"
"Yeah, Amy Christine Dumas...I wanted it to that last part
to be Hardy but I fucked up big time." Matt said as he
started staring into space again.
"No, you didn't. You don't want a wife. Trust
me. We know from experience, my boy." Faraaoq replied.
"If you had a woman like I did, she would prove you
wrong."
"Alright. Come on, come on! We have a match to
plan. Let's just drop the Matt & Amy situation for a
few minutes." Michael interrupted.
"Sorry, man. I just...I just...don't know
anymore."
**********
Matt lay on his back, shirtless, staring at the
ceiling in his room. Amy had dumped him about a month ago
and he hadn’t been the same since. He was feeling a lot
better physically, but emotionally he still missed her like
crazy. He had started talking again after about two weeks of
silence during which Jeff had threatened everything from prying
his mouth open to sticking a hot iron poker up his ass to get him
to speak.
Amy really had Matt fucked up. He would
come home from wrestling, drop all his stuff and watch all his
home videos of Amy training with OMEGA. It was quite obvious that
he really loved her. He hated himself for not being there
for her when she needed him. One thing was for sure...the next
time he found a woman like Amy, he wouldn't do anything to mess
it up. Being miserable was horrible, but being miserable
and in love with someone who didn’t return the favor was a
bitch. He was learning that all a little too quickly for
his own liking.
Matt smiled to himself as he watched Shannon
Moore trying to teach Amy how to do a swinging DDT. This was how
he loved her. Smiling and laughing, using her hands to
animatedly say something the more excited she got. Those
were the good ol' days, when everything was fine between the two.
He wished he could go back in time by just watching it.
Matt heard the door creak as someone opened it
and sighed, Jeff had been giving him a hell of a time about his
‘obsessive ness‘. He turned around to see Jeff
standing there, shirtless as well, frowning at Matt like a father
who had caught his two year old with his hand in the cookie jar.
He sat down on the bed that his depressed brother was lying
on.
"Matt, this is getting ridiculous. You've gotta be a man and
move on from this. Sitting around here reminding yourself
about her isn‘t helping you a bit." Jeff said
pounding his fists on the bed to accentuate his words.
"I'm trying, Jeff. I really am. I loved that woman and it‘s
just not that easy to forget about someone you thought you would
spend the rest of your life with. Besides it‘s easy for you
to say all this when you are completely in love with a woman who
feels the same way as you. You don‘t understand how
lucky you are."
"Maybe I don’t understand what you’re going
through, but crying about it ain't gonna bring her back. You
can’t just act like you’re dead man. She’s
sure as hell not acting like it.”
“And how do you know what she’s doing, oh, powerful
one?” Matt asked rolling over onto his stomach and
grabbing a pillow.
“I just got off the phone with her actually."
"How is she doing?" Matt asked as he quickly rolled
back over and sat up.
"Believe or not...she's in Dory Funk's wrestling school
now."
"Are you serious?! How did she get there?!"
"She told Rob Van Dam that she wasn't happy with what she
was doing in ECW. So he took her to meet Dory. He was impressed
when she told him about how she got into wrestling. Then, he
invited her to train at the school."
"That's awesome. She never ceases to amaze me." Matt
said, the wonderment of her still in his voice.
"Well, she asked about you. I told her you were fine. I
couldn‘t bring myself to tell her how you really are."
"I bet she still has that same beautiful voice, same accent,
same way of saying certain words." He said as his
smile got dreamy and he looked back at the television.
"Man, turn his shit off. You‘re never going to
get over her if you don‘t start living again bro. Plus,
you‘re about to drive me nuts. Let‘s go
work." Jeff said as he turned the television off.
"I know, I know. It's time to go back to work, right?"
He replied as he put on a shirt.
"You'll find another woman, Matt. I don't know who but
you'll find one and she‘ll be the one for you. It may
be hard, but love is always hard. Trust me." Jeff said
as he patted him on the back while they left his room.
“When did you get to be the wiser older brother?”
Matt cracked as they headed down the stairs laughing.

Matt read the script for the shows this week as
Michael Hayes walked beside him to Matt and Jeff's hotel room. He
had to forget about Amy for a little while and be professional.
Truth be told, being professional was the only way he was
going to forget about her for a little while. Thoughts of
her still invaded his brain every free second he had, enough to
drive a man crazy. Working was the only way to get rid of
her.
"So we turn on you tomorrow and join Gangrel?"
"Yeah, you and Jeff don't need me anymore in the storylines.
You can make it on your own. Your talent speaks for itself."
"Well, like I've said so many times, thank you so much. You
have honestly helped us out in more ways than one. I can't thank
you enough, man."
"It's just in the storylines, Matt! I'm still gonna be here
for y'all." Michael smiled.
"Yeah, I know. I just appreciate you getting us to where we
are today. We needed it a lot."
"Well, I'm going to bed now. I'll see you in the
morning." Michael waved as he walked to the hall.
"Alright. Take care."
Matt unlocked the door to his hotel room and
went inside. The room had a bathroom, a coat closet, two beds,
four wooden drawers and a television. Matt wasn't surprised to
see his brother knocked out on his bed snoring loud as hell. He
sat down on the other bed and turned Jeff on his stomach so the
snores wouldn't be so loud. Matt had been doing that to Jeff ever
since he was four. He grabbed the remote and started flipping
through channels. He found MTV and got comfortable. Amy always
loved to watch MTV. That reminded him of her in a huge way. He
felt tears forming in his eyes. That's how miserable he was.
Everything he saw reminded him of Amy. He couldn't help but think
about her but a video came on and it totally released him from
thoughts of her.
It's not hot that you be callin' me, stressin' me, pagin' my
beeper
You just non-stop and it's not hot that you be leavin' me
messages
Every ten minutes and then, you stop by
When I first met you, you were cool
But it was game, you had me fooled
'Cause twenty minutes after I gave you my number
You already had my mailbox full
Matt's eyes were glued to the television
screen. He had never been so blown away before in his life. That
voice he just heard was so beautiful. The face he saw on the
television made his head spin. Chocolate brown skin, and
the honey colored hair greeted him as he gazed at the screen. She
didn’t look like his normal kind of girl, but maybe that’s
what made her so appealing. Amy had been his normal kind of
girl and she had hurt him worse than anyone ever had. Speaking
of which, he couldn't even remember Amy's middle name. This woman
he saw singing with three other girls drove him wild. Matt looked
at Jeff, he would know who they were. He had to know that girl's
name. Matt shook Jeff over and over until he woke up.
"Jeff! Jeff! Get up!"
"What? WHAT?! Get the fuck off me! I'm tryin' to
sleep!" Jeff didn't even bother to look up, he just pushed
Matt away as if he were a worrisome mosquito.
"You can go to sleep after you tell me who that girl
is." Matt sat Jeff up with his strength and made Jeff look
at the television screen.
"Destiny's Child. It's Destiny's Child! Let me
go to bed now!" Jeff said as he tried to wiggle out of
Matt's tight grip and rubbed his eyes.
"Who's the lead singer? What is her name?!" Matt
asked.
"Beyonce! Now, let me go!" Jeff pleaded with Matt
'cause he was having a good dream about Beth before Matt woke
him.
Matt pushed Jeff back on the bed and turned his
attention back to the television as the video continued to play.
He didn't know what it was about this girl named Beyonce but he
certainly took his mind off of all the stress that was
surrounding him at the moment. It was one of those love at first
sight type things. He didn't know how or when but he was
determined to meet this girl named Beyonce.
