Skatepark is now a 'small' step closer

SKATERS in Castle Cary are moving closer to their dream of a town skatepark to practise their sporting skills.
A bank account has been set up, and a site next to caryford Hall has been unoffically agreed to.
Steve Barnes of South Somerset District Council
, who is co-ordinating the project, says nothing has been signed but small steps have been taken.
He said: "Cary Rangers football club are happy with a small tennis-court sized area up there as long as it does not affect their pitch - that is fair.
"Caryford Hall want it quite a long way away.
Both are fine but nothing has been put down on paper yet.
The district council is reasonably happy with where it is going to go".

Last week Castle Cary town councillor Judith Pullen said:
"We have opened the bank account at long last so they now have somewhere to put Money. Nearly all the money is in from the sponsored sit in, and Steve Barnes has been extremely helpful about sorting out the site at Caryford Hall.
They collected 600 pounds from the lock in".
