"Speakers were exploding, all this stuff is just frying. Everything that could have gone wrong went wrong."

~Taylor, "Interview", July, 2000

We watched the fireworks in silence, relishing in their individual beauty. The various colors flashed across Jennys up-turned face. The end of her nose was pink from the cold and her breath came out in short bursts of fog through her parted lips. åSo beautiful, I was thinking as she caught me watching her instead of the show in the sky. I smiled lovingly down at her and brushed loose a wispy strand of hair that had gotten caught in her eyelashes. She smiled warmly back at me and slipped her arms inside my coat and around my waist. I no longer cared who might be watching us or what they may be thinking. I kissed Jenny on the forehead and stuck one arm inside her coat, wrapping the other tightly around her shoulders. Pulling her against my chest, we snuggled for all the world to see.

"There was a time I was everything and nothing all in one When you found me I was feeling like a cloud across the sun I need to tell you How you light up every second of the day But in the moonlight You just shine like a beacon on the bay And I can't explain But it's something about the way you look tonight Takes my breath away It's that feeling I get about you, deep inside And I can't describe But it's something about the way you look tonight Takes my breath away The way you look tonight With your smile You pull the deepest secrets from my heart In all honesty I'm speechless and I don't know where to start And I can't explain But it's something about the way you look tonight Takes my breath away It's that feeling I get about you, deep inside And I can't describe But it's somthing about the way you look tonight Takes my breath away The way you look tonight."

~"Something About the Way You Look Tonight", Elton John

"I'm all about you You're my desire I get higher every time I speak your name That's all I do And the way that I can't sleep at night Just proves what I go through I'm crazy 'bout you You are my, you are my, you are my lovely one You are my, you are my, you are my lovely one You are my, you are my, you are my lovely one You are my, you are my, you are my lovely one."

"There have been naysayers. There always will be. You don't think about the other stuff; you just focus on making an album you feel great about."

Ooh dream weaver I believe you can get me through the night Ooh dream weaver I believe we can reach the morning light Fly me high through the starry skies Maybe to an astral plane Cross the highways of fantasy Help me to forget today's pain

...but the best news is that Tays voice has changed, without any Peter Brady!=esque side effects. His former girly-boy vocals now possess the makings of an authentic Southern rock snarl, not unlike Box Tops!=era Alex Chilton. Give the kid a few million cigarettes and a few gallons of Jack Daniels, and he could wind up the Gregg Allman of the 21st century.

...it was hard to look at young Tay, all of 14 in the MmmBop video, and not think, who is that righteous keyboard-playing babe?

Like many of us, comedian Jay Mohr has a Hanson fixation. “That’s the hottest kid I’ve seen in my life,” he said, referring to vocalist Taylor, the, um, prettiest of the singing siblings.

Does anyone else get the feeling Jay Mohr likes Taylor...ALOT?! ;)

"It depends how you think of love...I've definitely thought I've been in love before."

~Taylor, Teen Mag.com, Chat, June, 2000

Best moment of the set: Taylor, in an attempt to "hype" up the crowd and be his usual spokemodel self, has the crowd sort of wave their hands around. He points to one side of the stage and says, "Hey, you guys really know how to do this." (Knowing glance. Wink.) He turns to the nasty ugly dissenters, points to them and says something akin to, "You guys over here aren't so good at this." Ouch. That's gotta hurt. Score one for Blondie.

"I broke my arm about five years ago. I was going down this huge hill on my bike to see the house my parents were going to buy. They were driving up the hill as I was going down and when I saw the car coming towards me I braked and went straight over the handlebars. I looked at my arm and it had just snapped."

"We were thrown out of a toy store ages ago. They had a display of bouncy balls and we ended up bouncing them all over the shop. We were 'asked to leave'!"

Gus VanSant: On one of your early t.v. appearances, there was a moment where-

Taylor: I forgot the lyric.

Gus: Yeah, a classic moment.

Taylor: The cameras are on you and it's daytime television and it's the first song. The first lyric was really off, a bad mistake and total coverage while you're making the mistake......but the audience doesn't know.

Isaac: The only slight thing was that Taylor's eyes were real wide.

Taylor: My eyes took up the whole screen.

"They don't dance onstage because they're busy playing instruments. And instead of enlisting a platoon of producers and writers, these guys huddle around the house and pen their own lyrics."

"It's just fun. I'm psyched about the fans being able to see us in concert, too. We're really looking forward to this."

~Taylor, Hanson-The Albertane Tour, 1998 Tour Book

Wednesday, July 26, 2000

"Because somewhere along the line, we figured out two undeniable realities: Seeing them doesn't quench the urge to see them, and Hanson, at any cost, is worth it. The This Time Around Tour? Bring it on!"

~"Panic", by Laura, Bright and Beautiful, http://riveronline.net/bab

Okay, you guys...tomorrow is the beginning of what we've all been looking forward to for two long years-Hanson's 2000 tour! Good luck to everyone still waiting on tickets to their shows, and let's get ready to rock!

"(If Only) has that "Where's the Love" feel. It connects back to it. It's kind of like what every person on the face of the planet has ever felt. You know, having feelings for somebody and going 'Oh should I talk? Should I not?'. That experience of having feelings for a person and you don't know how to tell them this. It's pretty universal."
