TAMPA - Clearwater's Brian Hahn scored a goal in the first half and the Tornadoes' defense held off a power Flagler Palm Coast attack the rest of the way to claim a 1-0 victory and the Class 3A state title.

Clearwater was able to shut down the Bulldogs' potent offense. Palm Coast fired off 24 shots at the Tornadoes, but could not get one in the back of the net.

It is Clearwater's first state title.

Bishop Verot wins on kicks: Much like its semifinal, the Fort Myers Bishop Verot soccer team outlasted its opponent, claiming the state title with a 4-3 (6-5 on penalty kicks) win against Plantation American Heritage in the Class 1A state final.

Goalkeeper Ross Lane made another penalty kick save to begin the deciding leg of the game, then dived to his left as American Heritage's Mario Moya pushed the final attempt wide.

In between, six of the eight Vikings were successful.
