Always the bridesmaid, never the bride. For the third consecutive season the Sox were defeated in the TBSBA finals by the Orioles. The Sox brought the series to the brink before losing the decisive seventh game. This came after nearly beating out the Orioles for the regular season crown, finishing second place with a 21-7 record. In 2006, the Sox look to finally reverse their fortunes and come up with the wins in the big games in order to become TBSBA champions.

For the most part, the Sox roster remains intact from 2005. Notable losses include 2005 Sox rookie of the year & TBSBA all star Adam Roos (3-2 1.79 ERA, .522 HR 22 RBI) and rotation stalwart Chris Tanzola (2-0 1.84 ERA). Their losses in the rotation will be felt, but the additions of Joey Zanni (Jacks dispersal draft), Steve Harkof (free agent) and Mitch Joyce (TBSBA draft) will keep the Sox staff strong.

Holdovers in the rotation include Dave Janhunen (5-0 3.84 ERA), Jay Buitenhuis (4-3 3.14 ERA) and Mark Rich (3-2). Dan Grant will be counted on to come in and shut teams down late in the game.  2005 proved to be one of the best offensive seasons for the Sox. The team belted 17 home runs, hit .378 and averaged 10 runs a game over the 28 game regular season. Offensive all stars included Dan Grant (.541 7 HR 33 RBI 30 runs), Grant Lilley (.500 2 HR 24 RBI), Myles Ball (.393 4 HR 23 RBI), Jason Cooper (.464 3 HR 19 RBI), Lincoln Galbraith (.393 19 RBI) and Jesse Slobojan (.417 16 RBI). Other key components for 2006 will include Dave Janhunen, Wes Richards, Pat Shoppoff, Frank Valente, Mark Rich, Ryan Latta, Greg Johnsen, Mike Toderash, Mitch Joyce, Doug Elo and Brad Hall (free agent).

The Red Sox invite all players, fans, friends, and families of the TBSBA to visit with our great sponsor, Boston Pizza, located at 505 Memorial Avenue.
