The 1987 Grand National came with a 3.8 Litre Sequential Fuel Injected, Intercooled, Turbo V6. The engine produces 245hp at 4000r.p.m and 355ft. lbs. of torque at 2000r.p.m. The 245hp rating was considered to be low and is more likely around 260hp. A stock Grand National will go 0-60 in 5.7 seconds, and will do the 1/4 mile around 14.3 seconds (Motor Trend, 1987). There were 20,193 Grand Nationals produced in 1987. This was by far the most of any year.
