Cipro is used to treat different types of bacterial infections including  when superimposed bacterial infection from Radiation Toxicity is present. Ciprofloxacin can potentiate existing renal insufficiency and may enhance concomitant drug toxicity with enhanced potential for ototoxicity. There are many Ototoxic Medications.

Ciprofloxacin is used to treat a variety of infections, including skin infections, urinary tract infections, respiratory infections, and wound infections caused by susceptible bacteria. There is an ear formulation used to treat ear infections and an eye formulation for ocular infections. While ciprofloxacin is highly effective, some bacteria are resistant to its effects.

Ciprofloxacin has been implicated in several cases of acute renal failure and is the most established fluoroquinolone to cause such renal dysfunction.

A number of drugs can produce a characteristic drug intoxication syndrome with disorientation, memory and cognitive deficits, gaze-evoked nystagmus, and gait and extremity ataxia. Cipro is one of them. This can be confused with more serious disorders.
