Newsflash !!!

Sunday 22 December 2002

The Army Of Skeggs has finally attained a following outside its own membership, Big Jules, Chris Hogan, and the random guy from Kristin we met at Sum 41.

Yesterday, at 1513 hours, Sam Smith, lead singer of The Army Of Skeggs, was working at Northcote Library as he normally does on a Saturday afternoon. At 1513 hours, a young lady's phone went off in the confines of the library, much to the chagrin of all librarians except one. This young lady was about 20ish, wearing a white top and black pants. She was initially embarrassed when "es gibt eine kleine... 'Dudilidut!'", however Sam recognised it as the chorus to The Army Of Skeggs' most popular and well-known song, Bunny Rabbit.

Sam went into shock (mmm... shockolade) at hearing this cheerful ditty from hat the phone of someone who he had NO IDEA who she was. He eventually summoned enough sense to go up to her and introduce himself. This young lady said she had heard us at the Rockquest Regionals, had inputted the ringtone on her phone, and asked if we had an album. Sam said no and then she left.

Initially on Sam recounting the event to Robbie, Robbie called Sam a dumbass for not finding out who she was. Sam argued that he was in shock at the time and could not possibly act rationally. "Plus it could be because I'm a dumbass."

Kylie Edwards, and Sound Tech /slash/ Substitute Drummer of The Army Of Skeggs, Andi Garnett, are outraged at this event. "This young lady has no right to input a copyright-protected song onto her phone. This privelege has been reserved by Robbie Ellis, the writer of this song and thus sole copyright-holder, for us two, cause he put it on our phones while we weren't looking just to annoy us. Man Ordain is cool."
