About Me and My Needlework: |
I have more than 25 years' experience as a seamstress. I don't offer the cheapest ritual clothing, altar cloths, etc., but I do offer ones that are very well-made. By preferrence, I use natural fibers: linen, wool, cotton, and silk. I will occasionally use synthetic fabrics (wool allergies are a sad fact of life for some people) but will not use fabric that I consider to be of poor quality or unsuitable for a project. I sew everything by hand and take pride in my work, so I also don't do 'gotta have it by Thursday' rush jobs.
A point about hand sewing: It isn't truly hand sewing unless you can do it sitting by a sunny window when the electricity is out. I definitely prefer to have electricity for light when sewing, but what I do is the real thing - no sewing machine or computerized embroidery gizmo involved. |
