槟城日本领事馆总领事，滕井总领事，随着时光的前进，已达到了退位的时候。在离开槟城前，滕井总领事定在三月十八日晚上八时至九时半假香格里拉酒店为本身举办了一个欢送鸡尾酒会，来感谢一直以来给于协助的各方面人士。当晚被邀出席者除了各国领事和政府显要以外，本会理事也被邀出席。当晚出席者多为重要人物，使到保镖处处，酒店停车场爆满。直通香格里拉酒店和光大的门更因安全理由而关闭，使到部分出席者必须绕远路进入酒店。照理晚会应在滕井总领事致词后才正式开始，不过在当晚，当滕井总领事还正在入口处欢迎嘉宾的到访时，部分嘉宾已急不可待的开始动餐起来，使到场面一度进入混乱状况，不知要吃好还是不吃好。在滕井总领事致词后，槟州首席部长丹斯里许子根博士因大选来临之关系而迟到入场。滕井总领事即刻邀请许博士上台致词。过后许博士就匆匆忙忙的离开。用完餐后，嘉宾们一一的跟滕井总领事道别。本会理事一同人在跟滕井总领事临别前来了张合照以做记念。

The Consul General, Consulate-General of Japan at Penang, Mr. Fujii, had finally finished his term of service in Penang. Before he goes back to Japan, Mr. Fujii had organized a farewell reception at Shangri-La Hotel on 18^th March from 8.00pm to 9.30pm, to say good bye to all. The guests of honour that night included consul from various countries and PJLS’s committee members. Chief Minister of Penang, Tan Sri Dr. Koh Tsu Koon was also invited, but he was late due to the campaign for the general election. However, he was in time to deliver his speech after The Consul General, Mr. Fujii, had delivered his speech. At the end of the farewell reception, the PJLS’s committee members managed to take a group photo together with Mr. & Mrs. Fujii.

日本南山大学学生交流会

Exchange Ideas With Students From Nanzan University, Japan

三月二日，大约晚上七时，一群十多人来自日本南山大学的教师及学生们浩浩荡荡的抵达了本会会所。他们的目的主要是跟本地对日本及日语有兴趣的公众人士及学生们进行交流。在交流会还未开始前，原本只供大约三十位学生上课的教室已被热心交流的群众们挤得水泄不通，有者更因为挤不进已坐满至少有六十人的课室，而被逼打消交流的念头，可见这群远道而来的年轻大学生们的魅力不小。交流会在晚上七时半，由副田老师主持开始。首先由本会会长，钟雅思师和南山大学领队老师致词。紧接下来的是互相赠送纪念品，后由本会的谭世恬前辈讲述日治时期的亲身经验。过后，由五位南山大学学生轮流讲解他们对马来西亚的看法及一些调查。接下来的是两位本会学生，黄伟年和Denisha分别以日语和英语讲述他们对日本的看法。由于谭前辈讲述的日治时期经验大受欢迎，在进入茶点时间前，本会的岑开喜前辈也讲述了他本身在日治时期的亲身经验。茶点后，大学生们乘搭理科大学巴士回理科大学，继续他们的交换计划。

On 2^nd March, around 7.00pm, a group of students from Nanzan University, Japan arrived at PJLS’s clubhouse. The purpose of their visit is to exchange ideas and opinions with local student who are interested in Japan and the Japanese language. More than 60 participants, including PJLS’s committees, students attended the event, which is jointly organized by PJLS and Soeda sensei. After PJLS’s president, Ms. Cheng Ah See and organizer from Nanzan University, Prof. Kondo, had delivered their speeches. Mr. Thum Sai Thiam from PJLS was invited to talk about his experience during the Japanese Occupation in Penang. Students from the Nanzan University also presented their idea survey’s on Malaysia. In return, two students from PJLS, Mr. Ooi Wei Nien and Ms. Danisha, also presented their view about Japan in Japanese and English respectively. Before break, Mr. Sham Khai Hee from PJLS also shared his experience during the Japanese Occupation. The event was successful and everybody had enjoyed themselves.

谢谢，石井老师！Arigatou， Ishii Sensei

石井敏子老师，本会其中一位义务式日语老师，在三月十三日随同先生回归日本，结束在马来西亚的生活。本会为感谢石井老师在这三年来给于本会义务的服务，特定在二月十五日为石井老师举办了一个欢送午餐会。因得知石井老师喜欢中华式的火窝，本会特别选择了吴发成餐馆来进行这个场面热闹的欢送会。当天出席者包括了本会理事，老师和曾经被石井老师教导过的学生们，人数多达三十人。除了本会赠送给石井老师的纪念品外，在当天石井老师的学生们也联合赠送了纪念品给石井老师。在三月十三日晚上，石井老师和先生乘搭飞机到吉隆坡转机回日本。到机场送机者包括了本会副秘书，副财政和石井老师的学生们。		Mr. & Mrs. Ishii enjoying the farewell lunch.

Ishii sensei chat with her students.	Ishii Toshiko sensei, one of the PJLS’s volunteer Japanese teachers, decided to go back to Japan due to her husband has finished his term of service in Malaysia. To show appreciation to her voluntary service for the past three years, PJLS organized a farewell lunch for her on 15^th February. Since Ishii sensei loves Chinese style steamboat, Restaurant Goh Huat Seng had been chosen as the venue for the lunch. 30 participants, including PJLS’s committee members, teachers and students who were Ishii sensei’s former students, attended the farewell lunch. Beside the souvenir that has been given by PJLS earlier, Ishii sensei’s students also presented souvenir to her on that day. On 13^th March, Ishii sensei together with her husband is on her way back to Japan by flight from Penang to Kuala Lumpur then to Japan. Those went to the airport that night included PJLS’s assistant secretary, assistant treasurer and her students.

会所清理时刻Clubhouse Cleaning Hours

二月十五日，本会理事在开完当天的会议后，并在等待参加石井老师的欢送午餐会之际，进行了短暂的会所清理时刻。当天出席会议的理事并不齐全，加上有少数身为老师的理事在会议后必须上课，使到剩下的理事寥寥无几，所以原定进行的大扫除被逼改为小型的会所清理。当天发生了个小小的意外，使到会长放在桌面上的眼镜无故受损。虽然如此，清理工作照样进行，使得会所有个较清洁的环境。

On 15^th February, after the committee meeting and before the farewell lunch for Ishii sensei, the committee members had a clubhouse cleaning activity. Since the number of committee members that attended the meeting that day were not many, and because some of the committee members were teaching in the class, there were only few committee members who are able to help for the cleaning. Thus the original big scale cleaning has to be turn down to a smaller scale activity. Anyway, the cleaning was still on, to make sure that we have a cleaner and more conducive clubhouse.

颁奖于日本语能力试验最佳成绩者Prize Presentation To Best Scorer In JLPT

2003年日本语能力试验之成绩已揭晓。通过本会报考的考生中，应考1级的11人当中有1人及格，应考2级之16人中有6人及格，而应考3级的31人中有17人及格，至于4级，有42人应考，22人及格。为鼓励更多人应考，本会一直以来都有颁发奖励金和奖品于在通过本会报考的考生之中，在各级考获最高分者。今年，1级和2级的最高分奖由同一人获得，即是去年同时考获3级和4级最高分的洪建勇。至于今年的3级和4级的最高分奖，分别由刘碧静和李美琴获得。今年考获最高分的2，3和4级者各获得字典一本，而1级者则是RM250的现金奖。在三月二十八日举行的本会会员大会上，已进行了颁奖仪式。当中考获3级最高分的刘碧静因有事在身不能出席，而以书面通知后，奖品将于他日交给她。

The result of the 2003 Japanese Language Proficiency Test has been announced. Those who registered under the name of PJLS and scored the highest mark will be presented a prize. For level 1, among 11 candidates who sat for the test, only 1 candidate passed. As for level 2, 16 candidates sat for the test and 6 candidates passed. For level 3, 17 candidates out of 31 candidates passed the test. And for level 4, out of 42 candidates, 22 candidates passed. For this year, Mr. Jason Foong Kean Yoong has scored the highest mark in level 1 and level 2 among those who registered under PJLS. Mr. Jason had also scored the highest mark in level 3 and level 4 in 2002. For this year level 3 and level 4, Ms. Low Phaik Cheng and Ms. Lee Bee Gim scored the highest mark respectively. The prize presentation ceremony was carried out during the Annual General Meeting of PJLS on 28^th March. Mr. Jason has received a cash prize of RM250 for his level 1. For other levels, the prize is a dictionary. Ms. Low was absent that day with written excuse, so her prize will be given to her later.

PJLS’s Recreation sub-committee would like to organize a trip to China’s Yun Nan Da Li Li Jiang. It will be 8 days trip around August during school holiday. Estimated fee will be RM2400++. 日本国际交流基金不久前在网络上设立了一个日本语试验网站，主要对象为初级和中级的学生。此试验除可用于测试学生的日语程度，并可用于教材。有兴趣者请参考以下来自槟城日本领事馆三石领事的资料：

A newly developed Japanese Language Test website is available on the Internet now. It is developed by Japan Foundation and the test is meant for those studying basic and intermediate Japanese Language. This test can be used to access the level of the student’s Japanese Language and at the same time, it can be used as a teaching material.
