Richard  E. Vrolijk
 
In 1982, at   the age of   7  Richard began his training  in the  JiDo Kwan (tae  kwon do)   style  at the Aruba Korean Karate Institute    at  La Salle College of Adolf Lichtenstaijn. His instructor was Mr.Erick Dania.  Richard took a break to practise other types of sports but returned to practise Olympic  Tae kwon do at the
Santa  Cruz Tae Kwon Do Center under guidance of Grandmaster
Chaco Cornelio and later briefly at Juliana School under
guidance of Instructor Herrich Lo-A-Njoe.
 
In 1998 while   studying  in Holland Richard  started his training in the Tang Soo Do style given by   Master Aldwin H. Lee  5th  Dan and  Bo Sah Bum  Nim  Ruddy  Monsanto 4th Dan. He competed in different tournaments in Germany and Holland.
 
He also attended workshops  given by  Grandmaster Jae Chul Shin  (8th Dan)of the  World Tang Soo Do Association, from England
Master Mark Adlington and from Scotland Master Jan de Vry.
In 2004 he had a chance to meet and work with Grandmaster Richard Byrne of the American Tang Soo Do Association.
Other great masters he work with are former Region 18 Director Master Carmelo Rivera  and from Region 8  Master Richard
Arteca. Both from the World Tang Soo Do Association.
 
He co-founded the first Tang Soo Do Studio in Aruba which is member of WTSDA. In 2007 he founded his own school independately under the name of Aruba Tang  Soo Do.   Shortly after he  becomes  a member of Atlantic-Pacific Tang Soo  under  
guidance    of   Master  John  St. James   who   is   also   his   instructor   and   mentor. He also had recently a chance to train with Master Antonio Rivera.
