Tammy's Handmade Crochet
Welcome to Tammy's Handmade Crochet. Crocheting is my favorite craft.  I learned how to crochet from my grandmother when I was a little girl and I love it.

For many years I have been making items for charity.  I crocheted baby layettes for the Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society, a non-profit charitable organization which gives baby bags to new moms of the armed forces.  I crocheted squares and helped join them for Warm Up America!, whose primary purpose is to organize and assist in the creation of blankets by volunteers and to distribute these blankets to needy and homeless people.  I crocheted blankets for Project Linus, a non-profit organization that distributes blankets to children of all ages who are seriously ill, traumatized, or otherwise in need.

In addition to charity work, I have crocheted many items for family and friends.
Thank you for visiting my site.  This is a work in progress, so please come back often to view updates and new items.  If you have any questions or comments, please feel free to sign my guest book or contact me at the e-mail address below.

I am now selling some of the items I make.  These are some of the projects I have completed for craft fairs.

My layette items are made using "Bernat" baby weight yarn, which is 75% acrylic, 22% acetate, and 3% nylon, and are machine washable and dryable.  All sizing is for newborns.  These items can be made in any color based on availability at my local craft store, but generally are available in pink, blue, yellow, green, white, and sometimes variegated baby colors.
My socks are made using white purchased socks, white size 10 3-ply crochet cotton thread and purchased beads.  Any color bead combination or style of bead can be used, based on availability at my local craft store.  I can also crochet an edging in colored thread around the sock edge without using beads.
My Christmas ornaments are made using gold size 20 2-ply metallic wrapped crochet thread.  These were made with plastic ball ornaments for durability, but glass balls can also be used.  These are seasonal, based on availability of supplies at my local craft store.
My kitchen items are made using "Peaches & Creme" 4-ply 100% cotton yarn, and are machine washable and dryable.

My towel toppers are made using a full towel for extra durability and this way both sides can be used.  I do not cut the towels, but fold them in half with hanger crocheted across the fold, and I crochet the "button".  Different designs on towels are based on availability at my local store.  Holiday themed towels are available in season.

My potholders and hot pads are approximately 7" and double layered.  I can design any color combination to match your kitchen decor, based on availability at my local craft store.  I have a few basic styles in round and square, with or without a hanger, your choice.

My dishcloths are approximately 6" square.
My doll clothes are made using size 10 3-ply crochet cotton thread, and are machine washable and dryable.
