Felipe
(By Juan Diego Botto)
Born in Argentina (Buenos Aires, 1975), but he grew up and was educated in Madrid.
He trained formally at Christina Rota's Actors' School there and at the HB Studios in New York.
His mother gave acting classes, and effectively he has been involved in the dramatic arts since he was an infant. He made his cinema debut while still a child, in "Teo el pelirrojo" (Paco Lucio, 1985) and "El río de oro" (Jaime Chávarri, 1986). As an adolescent, he took the opportunity to work in alternative theater.

Now he is one of Spain's most flexible, natural and indispensable young actors. He has never been "promising": he has always just been there. His most notable films have been "Si te dicen que caí" (Vicente Aranda, 1989), "1492: La conquista del Paraíso" (Ridley Scott, 1992), "Historias del Kronen" (Montxo Armendáriz, 1995), "En brazos de la mujer madura" (Manuel Lombardero, 1996), "Extasis" (Mariano Barroso, 1996), "La Celestina" (Gerardo Vera, 1996), "Más que amor, frenesí" (Alfonso Albacete, Miguel Bardem y david Menkes, 1996) and "Martín (Hache)" (Adolfo Aristaráin, 1997). More recently, there have been "Sobreviviré" (Alfonso Albacete y David Menkes, 1999) y "Asfalto" (Daniel Calparsoro, 2000).
Botto also acted in The Dancer Upstairs directed by John Malkovich.
