					EDWARD BELL MARILYN MODERNE
			´´ ...Marilyn was a friend of Boy George´s.  Basically the picture is a boy in drag with a bit of classical throw in to make it look like a statue.  There´s also a reference to the De Milo,  who was taken to be the epitome of womanhood in early times.  This is the modern equivalent - a 17 year-old transvestite.  Oddly enough,  I sold the full sized picture to a man who came up to me at the exhibition and said,  ´ I´ve just bought your painting,  I think it really epitomises Monroe exactly.  ´I was so amused that I had to tell him the truth.´ ´   -   EDWARD BELL - BLITZ MAGAZINE 1983 EDWARD BELL MENU        /        MARILYN    MENU
