My line of the Sinnotts, also spelled Synnott, came from Nicholastown, Kilkenny County, Ireland. Most of them immigrated to Bridgeport, Connecticut, via Boston or Philadelphia between 1846-1850. John Synnott (b.1807; m.Catherine Hennessey) came to the US and then moved to Canada, where the Synnott name carries on. His brother, the Rev. Father Thomas J. Synnott (b.1818), spent most of his life in Bridgeport, Connecticut, serving with his nephew, Father John Synnott (son of John & Catherine). John and Thomas also had a sister, Ellen (m. Martin Walsh). I am still searching for the parents of John, Thomas and Ellen, and their other siblings.
