*2002 Firehawk~Build #180 of 1501*

This page is dedicated to my 2002 Formula Firehawk #180. I had to get the last year of this wonderful machine before it disappeared. So I sold my 98 Camaro to my friend Alysia and worked my booty off to afford to buy my new Hawk. And after driving it for just a short while, I am reassured everyday that it was all worth every ounce of sweat, hard work, and worrying.

After waiting almost three months after I placed my order, I picked it up from Sewell Pontiac in Dallas on October 20, 2001, and drove it all the way back to New Orleans (500+ miles) with all the plastic still on it.

Timeline:
07.27.01-Placed order with my man Saadallah
08.06.01-Order accepted by GM and TPW assigned (08.20.01)
08.21.01-Car built at GM and got VIN#
09.05.01-Converted at SLP
10.01.01-Shipped back to GM
10.09.01-Shipped to Sewell Dallas
10.20.01-Arrived at Sewell Dallas and drove it home

Here's a pic of it at Sewell Dallas right after it got
dropped off by the truck. I was there waiting for it when it arrived.

Here's a pic taken on the road outside of our
hotel after we stopped overnight in Alexandria.

Here's a few pics I took after some Zaino and a quick drive out to the Lakefront and then the park.

Here's some more pics that I took at my dad's house in Florida when I went for Thanksgiving.

Here's some random pics... first two from SLP day in Dallas (one from the car show and one in the staging lanes), then my car on the dyno at ThunderRacing.

Here's some pics of me with my baby. The first was taken on Halloween 2002; note the orange sweater and black leather pants. I was feeling festive:) The second was taken when I was waiting to get into SLP day. While I was Q-tipping my brake calipers making sure they were all clean, my friend Ladyhawk snapped the pic.

I ordered my Hawk with the following options:

GM options:

W66 Formula option
1SA Base option package (includes T-tops, power everything, alarm, rear defogger, CD player, etc)
MN6 Manual tranny
AR9/193 Ebony leather bucket seats

SLP options:

WU6 Base Firehawk package
Chrome Firehawk wheels
Bilstein suspension
Floormats
Portfolio
SLP Deckmat (ordered after delivery so I could get the custom embroidery)

Mods so far:

!CAGS (skip-shift eliminator)
SLP Sub-frame Connectors
SLP Strut Tower Brace
Painted brake calipers with 'Formula' badges
Holley PowerShot air filter
Exhaust cutout
Hust Billet Plus shifter with SLP shift knob
SLP engine plaque

Mods soon to come:

SLP long-tube headers & Y-pipe
SLP Loudmouth exhaust
Drag Radials
and I'm still deciding on whether ot not to do heads/cam or blower... hmmmm

In March 2002, I dyno'd the Hawk with 6300 miles on the clock. The only modifications at the time that would help horsepower were the exhaust cutout and the Holley PowerShot. The Hawk dyno'd 320 RWHP and 327 RWTQ in basically bone stock form. My scanner is down, but I will scan the dyno graph as soon as I can.

I got my SLP sub-frame connectors put on 11.17.01 at my friend's shop. He builds race car chassis all day and he welded on my SFC's beautifully. Here's some pics:
