I love Valentine's Day, even ones when I didn't have a boyfriend. My mom used to have paper doily hearts, pretty paper and we would find things around the house to make beautiful valentines for friends and grandparents.
And I think a little pink softens a house. This week my husband brought me a bunch of tiny, pink roses that I put in a crystal looking vase for the kitchen table.
HOW TO HOLD A VALENTINE TEA
My eight year old daughter is hosting her annual Valentine's Tea on Friday. The girls come wearing dressing. My daughter and I will be making special chocolates this year for the guests.
The table will be set with pretty dishes, dainty tea cups and red napkins. We will have rasberry tea, or juice depending on what the kids want. Food (cupcakes, cookies and valentine message hearts) will be served on lovely platters.
After tea, they will go to the craft table. We have lots of materials out for making valentines. This year my daughter also wanted to have the girls make valentine's wreaths.
Before they go home they can decorate paper lunch bags to put their valentines into.
