About us... Smike and Paisley

...Briefly...

We'd like to introduce ourselves to you, and these brief paragraphs and picture seem the perfect way to do so. Now, without further ado...

Smike is co-owner of a Web Design, Graphics and Consulting company called Virtual Systems. He comes from a large family of 4 children, and grew up in a small town. His background is in music, and has enjoyed a successful career as a Recording Engineer. Smike loves to go mountain biking, especially when it's muddy... but finds time too short to go out very often. He can often be found in the basement, working on his newest music project and playing the drums.

Paisley is the other half of Virtual Systems. Her background is in Pharmacy as a Technician, and has worked in hospitals, in retail, and mail-order as well as operating the compounding lab at an alternative health pharmacy. Her current passions include learning VRML and creating original web graphics, chatting on the Internet, cooking, and alternative medicine. She is currently working on a music project with a friend in the UK, providing the vocals and some song ideas.

We met and started dating while Smike was recording a demo for some mutual friends. Ironically, they had never met before, although both Smike's and Paisley's brothers had been best friends growing up, they had mutual friends, worked at the same store at different times, and both families went to the same church. Of course, they are also close to five years apart in age... so it wasn't likely that they could have met in school. Anyway, it was a grand friendship, combined with much weekend travelling and fun, fun, fun! Soon it was decided that Paisley should try to find a job in the Toronto area, and move in with Smike. They have been together ever since... but for such a cheesy pair, it's only a beginning...
