**Shelby's Homepage**My name is Shelby. I am a high school sophomore on Long Island where I have grown up. I love skiing, snowboarding, dancing, shopping, and hanging out with my friends. My favorite color is green and my favorite TV shows are Friends, Survivor, Will and Grace, Boston Public, Everwood, Real World and the Bachelorette. I have spent the past 7 summers at sleep-away camp in Pennsylvania, and although this past summer was my last summer as a camper, I am still obsessed with camp! I had some great experiences last year in high school and hope this year will bring many more... for one thing, I can't wait to drive!
When you were 14, do you think you could have handled getting lost in a foreign city where no one spoke your language and you had no means of transportation or communication? Well, I did, and I happened to have the time of my life. I love action and excitement, and adventure is a big part of who I am.
In the past, my life has never been too lacking of adventure. My dad is well known for his crazy, daredevil ways, of which I inherited. I was the girl who scuba dived at 8, parasailed at 9, learned a back flip at 6, and found my way around Positano, Italy at 14. I hate any boring moment, and I live for speed, fun and excitement. This explains why I love skiing and snowboarding. Cruising down the mountain is my ultimate freedom and biggest thrill. At camp, I ride the craziest roller coasters, go down the zip-line backwards and upside down, and am the first to volunteer to climb up to the rafters. I currently enjoy traveling, and I hope in my future to continue exploring and seeing the world. My sense of adventure has also led me to be ambitious about what I want in my future. I work hard at everything I do so that more opportunities will be open for me to explore. I hope in years to come I will still be the person up for anything.
Adventure is a significant part of my life and who I am. It drives me to explore - whether it’s exploring the world, a sport, an idea, or a snow covered mountain. This part of me is a motive for many things I do in life, and helps me to appreciate all that life has to offer.
