She would lay at night-and cry in her bed

With no questions asked-and no answers said.

She was taught to be quiet-and not to express

Made to believe-she's lesser than less.

Sitting at a park-watching families play

Feeling so alone-by herself,like prey.

A little girl falls-and her mom rushes near

She picks her child up-and holds her dear.

She looks away-and wonders WHY

Why that's not her-and starts to cry.

There's no mom around-to help her stand

So she sits alone-crying in the sand.

A man appears-she looks in his eyes

They're the bluest blue-as to stare at the skies.

He walks behind her-as she still sits

She can feel his shadow-the closer he gets.

She watches the ground-as his shadow expands

A breeze of air flows-as a feather lands.

He touches her shoulder-she feels his love

She turns around-to find a Dove.

She picks herself up-no longer astray

And smiles at the Dove-as it flies away.
