by Sweet Girl

My guard was down- just a friend
To share a laugh with- smiles to send.
Problems discussed- when feeling sad
Advice to share- from times we had.
You say you understand- yes,you do
Ironically enough- I understand,too.
We can't afford- our hearts to bleed
The petals of a rose- begin with a seed.
Just as we- began with a smile
And laughed and shared- despite the mile.
Not much to say- you have me defenseless
This love is our castle- with me as your princess.
The battle of hearts- can now surrender
Cupid's arrow- so soft and tender.
The white flag goes up- I watch it fall
Conquered by love- I hear it call.
Defenseless to you- I'm aware
The shield's all drop- in a battle, unfair.
Soldier's of love-who earn that medal
Like once that seed- but now the petal.
The war is over- such sweet debris
You've won my heart- down on one knee.
Surrendering to you- I am defenseless
With love as our castle- and I as your Princess.
