Beehive Daily Schedule:

Our schedule is a loose one, all times are approximate.

7:30 am ---

Arrival, quietly watching TV.

8:15 - 8:45 Breakfast is served

8:45, We clean up breakfast.

9:00am, We head downstairs for our morning program.

We always start our program with Calendar,
we put the next number up and have a discussion about the day, date and year.
Once our calendar is done we have a circle time activity involving the weeks theme.
We have several learning activities after circle time, they could include alphabet lotto, shape matching, etc.

About 10:00 we have our art activity, usually based on our weeks theme. Once that is cleaned up we have stories, poems and songs/ music. This will include felt board stories/poems, magnet board stories/ poems, finger plays ( itsy bitsy spider) and story books.

We head outside at 11 am
Lunch is served around Noon followed by nap/ rest time.

Our afternoon is not as structured as our morning.
We have free play  in spring summer better weather we may go outside again in the afternoon

3:00 pm Snack

Children usually have free choice after snack, Sometimes we will have guided activities, but not structured, such as Blocks, I will go to the block area and begin building and they will all soon join me. It ends up being a group project.
Sometimes when pick ups are a bit later, we will wind down the afternoon with a video. Right now Winnie the Pooh is the favourite. Although we rarely get very far into before parents begin to arrive.
Of course our schedule is subject to change at any time. Sometimes children sleep longer and afternoon activities are cut short. Sometimes they are tired early and morning activities are cut short. I let them guide me a lot of the time. If we are playing a learning game they are enjoying. I will play it as many times as they want. Sometimes it is clear they did not enjoy something and we don't do it long. Guarenteed, we are always BIZZY and trying our best to have FUN!!
