Stewart writes: "Well I'm alive and well and have been living in the south for the past 18 years. I'm in Charleston, where the weather is nice most of the time. I moved down here shortly after we had the 10th reunion. Got married; got divorced; got into the internet early and ended up with a large company with dozens of employees, but went under after a decade (along with everyone else who wasn't ripping people off)." "I got involved in local politics along the way -- not as a candidate, but within the political process. I've worked a few campaigns, from local city council up to gubinatorial and congressional races. I managed to get elected chairman of the local party in '99 and stirred things up enough that the Mayor forced a referendum to have political parties outlawed (he's on the "other side"). We lost by a small margin, but considering we were a band of a dozen against the most powerful mayor in the country we didn't do too badly." "So now Charleston is "non-partisan". Of course Mayor Riley is still a democrat. We just can't be Republicans." "While I was in business, I started doing radio on the weekends as part of our marketing strategy. I spent 3 1/2 years doing a computer/technology talk show. I got the opportunity to switch to a general talk format, so I moved to weekdays about six months ago. I spend my days doing whatever computer consulting work is around and my afternoons doing show prep. Not a bad life, all things considered." See Stewart's web site below http://ivo.net/ |
