Activity Zone-swami4kids

Hi Friend,
Today is our day - Children's Day in India. So I thought, it could be a good time to start our activity zone. Everyone is doing something or the other for children today, how can I miss it. So I had an idea! How about writing our story - genuine children's story together. A story about us, the way we actually are and not the way we are seen. A story about our life - our moments, our friends, our mission, our gang, our pranks and laughter and everything that's so much us. I guess that's our way of having a blast. Do you agree? If you do then let's just have a blast at this.

I thought of a process. Just to set the ball rolling, I contribute a part of our untitled story. And then all you - the Satyas, Aryans, Mikes and Johns, the Simrans, Saras Michelles and Steffis out there, will contribute every subsequent part. In web terminology this is called as collaborative writing of a story. All those who contribute would be the co-authors. In the end we'll aptly title our story. So it will be our creation in true sense of the word. Gosh, I'm so excited about this.

Harry Potter is a thing of the past, let's spin our head and create magic now.

You know what, this story of ours can be made into a book, a movie, a radio show, a play everything we want.

So the creative gang (hey, can someone suggest a more creative name for our team of e-writers?), I have some idea of how we can go about this so that it is easy for all of us to participate.

1. I have started 2 stories each by writing a part, with my characters and situation settings.
2. Now you can write the second part and continue the story (whichever you like of the two or both) further from where I left it. Your part of the story could be of any length - a word, a sentence, a paragraph or an entire story - its your choice.
3. You can add some more characters of your own, and alter the settings in order to move the story forward.
4. Remember the story should move forward from where I left.
5. Then you can send your part of the story through the web page itself or directly to me at swami@swami4kids.com with your name and address along with the story .
6. Now, because we, the children of 2002 are so enthusiastic and creative, I will receive a lot of contributions. So in order to avoid confusion on which part to continue the story further with, I shall go to a panel of creative writers who could guide us on this.
7. Everyone who contributes will find a special mention on swami4kids and would receive a personal mail from Swami (Isn't that cool? Please don't say no, after all I'm your friend ya).
8. Whichever contribution, our panel finds appropriate (remember there is nothing as best or worst, good or bad in Swami's vocab), will be posted, with the name, photo and profile of the writer on AZ.
9. Now with this new angle to the story, it would give a new twist to work on the next part of the story (if need be). The process will follow till we reach an end of the story or till our panel gets bored (ha ha, just kidding)
10. Then will be a major challenge of naming our story, which again we all will take up together, as usual.
11. So get set to read and write from November 20 2002. Till then suggest me an artrageous name for our writer's gang at swami@swami4kids.com.

Terms of participation:
1. There's no limit. Anyone of any age, country, religion, class, height and weight can participate. You can write a part of any length to continue the chain of the story writers.
2. There is no entry fee. And there is no monetary reward for contributing.
3. When you contribute, it is understood that you have given it to us to edit and publish it and that you have no objection that we post it on our site, with your name, of course.
4. We will be happy to mention your name for contributing and more about you if you are the one whose contribution carries the story forward. So send us your details, contact address and your smiling photo, if your story is selected .
5. The last date for submitting your contribution for the story is December 15 2002.
6. You can see the next part by December 25 2002
7. The subsequent dates and deadlines will be mentioned from time to time.
