Swain School of Design REUNION

Dear Fellow Swainees:
Eleven years after the last class of Swain graduated, we are excited to announce our very first reunion. The reunion is open to all students, faculty, support staff and affiliates from the school's inception to its final days on the New Bedford and UMass campuses.

The reunion will take place during Homecoming weekend at UMD and is set for:

October 5, 2002
CVPA Building 6, Gallery Level
UMD Campus
5:00 - 9 p.m.

The invitation for the Swain Reunion will be sent in the mail within the next couple of weeks. You may, however, register for the reunion at any time by filling out and faxing or mailing the registration form, found here:
http://www.umassd.edu/aa/events/swain/reservation.htm

If you do not receive an invitation by October 1st, it may mean that you are not on our mailing list. Please visit the URL above for the registration form.

BUSINESS CARD EXCHANGE:
An area will be set up at the reunion for an Alumni business card exchange. Participation is free, but you must register in advance.

A small display area with business cards and company info will be set up for each Alumni interested in participating. Alumni attending the reunion will be given a small bag to collect business cards of
interest to them so that we may begin a business network and support system of Swain Alumns who either own their own business or are able to provide services of interest, may have employment opportunities, etc.

A master file of business cards will be kept at the Alumni office so that we may create a business directory of Swain Alumni and begin an interactive web site for Swain Alumni.

Alumni are responsible for taking home any remaining business cards at the end of the evening. Cards left behind will be discarded.

DEADLINE to submit business cards for the exchange is
SEPTEMBER 25th
. Anyone interested should submit at least 50 (or more) business cards along with the following information to Dawn Viola, 110 Pontiac Ave., Cranston, RI 02910:
Your name
Name at graduation
Year of graduation
Major
Business/Company name
Your Title or role in the company
Company overview/description

We will provide a small display area, business card holder, and a sign with your company profile.

Please don't hesitate to e-mail me with any questions or comments/ideas you may have.

In addition, we will also be taking names for anyone interested in forming a Swain Alumni committee for planning future Swain events.

PLEASE NOTE:
Addresses and phone numbers will be kept confidential and will be used for reunion purposes only. Contact Dawn M. Viola at the e-mail address above or Nancy Tooley at the UMD Alumni Association at www.umassd.edu for more information.
