The Gloucestershire Steam &
Vintage Extravaganza will once
again be held within the copious
surrounds of Kemble Airfield on
the Gloucestershire & Wiltshire
border on Saturday 7th and
Sunday 8th of August 2004.

2004 will see the event celebrate
its 30th Anniversary with some
very special attractions being
planned. Please visit this page regularly and keep up to date with all the latest news as we have it. You can also join our e-mailing list and we'll automatically keep you posted on developments.

Of course the event has not
                                                                                              always been staged at
                                                                                              Kemble. Its origins lie in
                                                                                              the fellow Gloucestershire
                                                                                              village of Stonehouse. In
                                                                                              1974 a small event was
                                                                                              staged on the Oldens Lane
                                                                                              Playing Field where it stayed
                                                                                              for 21 years before finally
                                                                                              outgrowing the site. In 1995
the show moved to its new
home at Miserden Park just a few miles from Kemble where it continued to grow and develop. As the Foot and Mouth Crisis engulfed the region as few years ago, the event was moved to the non agricultural site that is Kemble Airfield. This is of course where the event has blossomed and become the event known to most today.

Very much a working occasion, this
event is one of the fastest growing
shows in the UK and offers enormous
fun and value for money for all the
family. The site is within easy reach of
both the M4 and M5 corridors which
not only attracts visitors from all over
the country but also diverse and
different exhibits that are not usually
seen in this area.

Of course with the show ground being in the middle of a very active airfield, it is the Aircraft Section that sets the event apart from many others. Couple this with a very strong Steam Section, the event really is one not to be missed.
Following the incredible success of the special display of Steam Wagons in 2003 section leader Matt Shipton is aiming to repeat the gathering in 2004. It is hoped to get as many differing makes and models as possible in attendance. In
addition the event will also host a special gathering of
FODEN STEAM WAGONS, the first of its kind in the UK.

Interest in this special display is already strong and we are pleased to welcome on board the Foden Society who will also be displaying at the event.

In addition to the Steam Wagons there will also be 50 Steam Engines on the showground. Ranging from the humble Steam Roller to the mighty Showmans Road Locomotive, there will be plenty of genuine and original steam engines being put through their paces.

A large woking area will be in opperation and a display of 'Runway Construction' will also be created in association with the RRA who are also celebrating their own 30th Anniversary in 2004
A full list of Hotels, Guest Houses and Bed & Breakfast facilities in the Kemble area will follow shortly.
