Poetry and Me | |||||||||

Some say my poems are upsetting or depressing. Actually, they're right. The later poems are much happier to reflect the joys and loves of my life. I look back now and I see how much I've grown. It's been a long, hard road. I hope I never forget my misery so I can forever appreciate my happiness. The Little Girl Behind the eyes that twinkle, Behind the smile's bright light, Stands the saddened little girl Afraid of the darkened night. Behind the warm waves hello, Behind the welcoming glance, Stands the lonely little girl Never given that one chance. Behind the truth in which she lives, Behind the vows unbroken, Stands the confused little girl To whom lies have been spoken. Behind the pure love she feels, Behind the laughter's overspills, Stands the quiet little girl Whose soul pain slowly kills. Behind hopes of youth's days, Behind the dreams of the you, Stands the empty little girl Whose life never has begun. |
