Welcome to my home page.

I created this site to chronicle my my weight loss journey.  For me, it was purely a vanity issue and
a huge desire to get back the great shape that I once had.  This has truly been a life changing experience for me. After you check out the photos, be sure to check out some of the other information.
The Photos section shows my before and after pictures. I have also included photos of me at 25 years old when I was heavily into exercise and fitness.  These bodybuilding photos were taken of me at a Jr. Mr. America contest that I attended as a spectator.  A photographer from Women's Physique World Magazine spotted me, did an interview and took photos.  He offered to put me into the magazine if I entered a bodybuilding contest.  I use these photos as my inspiration and motivation. I want to get back in shape to look like "me".

Getting Started chronicles my plan when I started Weight Watchers on March 23, 2003.  This includes setting my goals and developing "my" plan.  I have included some organizational tips on menu planning, food shopping and my WW Weight Management cookbook that I created.  During my first few weeks and  months, I also made a list of the things that made WW successful for me.  These items helped me "create" the new lifestyle.

The Food section starts with my philosophy on healthy eating, what I have learned and how I live the WW life. The foundation of this section is the WW Guidelines for Healthy Living.  From there, I talk about how I developed my food/menu plan for myself and my family and include some organizational tips on menu planning and grocery shopping.  Certainly, I could not have done it with the Food Network.  They helped me learn how to cook and how to cook healthy.  My thanks to Rachael Ray, Paula Deen and Food 911.  The Food Section concludes with recipes-both family favorites and WW low point recipes.  If it's really a lifestyle change, then I need to fit in my family favorites as well as some new ways of cooking and eating!

The Exercise section talks about how I developed my current exercise plan.  My current plan is based on a realistic picture of what it takes to lose weight, what worked for me in the past and what types of exercises that I can do now and forever, based on my age and health conditions. My exercise plan and my stats are included. I also have my exercise stats included in "The Stats" section since the only way to continue losing was to increase the mileage, up to a point, that is.

The Stats includes results-pounds lost, inches lost and exercise required to meet my goals.
