BACK TO T Livesey PAST |
This is my maternal line and was the first family I started to research.
So far my earliest Livesey is John born 1787 in Walton le Dale near Preston. However through my research I have met a distant cousin, a descendant of James William b 1875 older brother of my Grandmother Mary Elizabeth, who has traced the family back to the 1600s when they were yeoman farmers living in Mellor which is midway between Blackburn and Preston.
In 1841 John and Mary Livesey were living at Roach Bridge, Samlesbury with their children. By 1848 they had moved to Blackburn as Adam is married there at the Parish church of St Mary, now the Cathedral. John and Mary appear on the 1851 census but so far I have failed to find them in 1861 and also have no burial for them.
