Stay Hungry

Executive Producer: Tom Werman

"Stay Hungry", Twisted Sister's third full-lengthed release, was the one that broke them onto the scene in the United States. Twisted had already enjoyed some popularity in the UK after the release of "You Can't Stop Rock and Roll".
Having already gained a following numbering in the tens of thousands in the New York/New Jersey area, it took the release of the "We're Not Gonna Take It" video to push Twisted into the mainstream metal scene in the US. The followup video for "I Wanna Rock" only cemented the image and sound of Twisted into the collective minds of American youth and adults alike. The third video release for the song "The Price" was not met with as much enthusiasm as the first two, possibly because it was devoid of the comical appearances of the band abusing the despotism of middle-aged America. But then, that's just a guess on my part!
A comment on the music of "Stay hungry"...Twisted was a band that had a knack for changing sounds between albums. In other words, the music is very different from release to release. On "Stay Hungry", the distortion seemed to be toned down a bit, but the guitar solos and rhythm riffs made up for it tenfold. My favorite on this album are the anthemic "I Wanna Rock" and "Don't Let Me Down" (which has a killer solo).
