Letter One: Introduction

Base Letter
Dear Pen Pal,
How are you? I'm good, but a little bored. This is my first summer taking classes here on campus and it's pretty quiet. Also, many of my friends have gone home for the summer, and are no longer around. I attend Michigan State University(MSU). I am a junior, and I'm majoring in health/psychology. I also work in the computer lab in my university's library. I help people use the library's computer system. I'm 21, my birthday is April 1st, and I am an Aries. When is your birthday? Do you go to school? Do you work?
I have a boyfriend, Mike. He's also 21, and he's a senior here at MSU. He majors in Telecommunications and works for a company called Zoom Culture. Zoom Culture helps him produce and sell his video footage. He also edits and directs his own footage. He recently sold two clips to a show called Planet Earth that will eventually air on national television in the major cities. I'm very proud of him!
What kind of music do you listen to? I listen to almost everything. My favorites are Dixie Chicks, Jewel, Tracy Chapman, Guster, Jimmy Eats World, NIN and Tool. However, I mostly listen to Electronic music. My favorite electronic artists are Moby, Olive, Robert Miles, and Riche Hawtin. I saw Moby last year at Moby's Area: One festival. In fact, I recently got my picture in the Detroit Free Press by dancing in the rain over Memorial day weekend. Detroit was sponsoring the Detroit Electronic Music Festival down in Hart Plaza, and a photographer fom the free press got a few good shots of me dancing. He used one in the Sunday paper!!! I'll send a copy of the article with my picture when I get a chance to scan it and get new colored ink for my printer!
Do you like concerts or music festivals? Have you been to any recently? Have you ever gone to a rave? I've been to a few raves in my life, but I don't go to very many anymore. I used to wear tons of candy necklaces and bracelets, and collect party flyers. Now I just wear a little candy, except for festivals!!! I still get dressed up in candy kid clothes for the DEMF(Detroit Electronic Music Festival). I know I'll always like the underground music!
