"When I've got the music, I got a place to go..."
- Rancid

Green Day- My taste for punk started with them. I liked "Basket Case" so I got "dookie." I liked that, so I got the older stuff. It led me to like Rancid (Billie Joe Armstrong co-wrote "Radio" with Tim Armstrong). That led me to like Operation Ivy, and on and on and on. My parents probably hated this band, because it's what got me into punk, and Jan and Jim for giving me the cd. Oh well...

Rancid- The second punk band that I liked. I like their new stuff occasionally, but I really like their older stuff better... Actually, I liked "Let's go" the best. I've only seen them live twice and they were both festival shows (Lollapalooza and Warped) but I'm sure there will be more soon. "See ya in the pit..."

Operation Ivy- I started to like these guys when I barrowed a tape (yes, a tape) from a friend (at the time) Andy. I find myself wishing that I liked them when they were still around, cause I'm sure they'd put on a pretty good show, but at least we have Rancid...

Screeching Weasel- I found out about them through green day - and got "How to make enemies..." because Mike (green day bassist) played on that album. Then I got their other stuff. I also got into Ben Weasel's writing... If you haven't read it, you're missing out

the Riverdales- I never even heard of 'em until I found out they were opening at one of the green day shows I went to. All I knew was they had former members of screeching weasel. They rocked in concert, and then I got the cd... otherwise it's not much different than that screeching weasel thing I had before...

DGeneration- I heard about these guys from Ted, so I got their most recent release of the time, No Lunch (they've since released a 3rd album) and loved it. Then I ended up meeting Danny (guitarist) at a club in Ohio and Jesse at his club in NYC - I've stayed in contact with Danny and hung out with him a couple years later during three different shows in TX (also met the rest of the band as well as some of the stage crew) and more recently in LA. Definately my favorite band (PS they've since broken up). Give em a listen - they were amazing.

the Ramones- I didn't even really get into these guys until the summer of '96 (I know, I should be shot) when I saw 'em play at Lollapalooza. Actually, the only reason I went to 'palooza was to the see them and rancid. But, it was great... without the ramones, where would punk be now? Punk, what's that? Exactly.

Pinhead Gunpowder- Another one of those bands I found out through green day. Billie Joe Armstrong sings and plays guitar. Though they only get around to recording occasionally, most of what I've heard so far is cool. Although, I prefer their older 7"s and 10" to the new LP...

the Ataris- These guys were originally from my hometown, and even though they moved to CA shortly after the release of their first record, they have managed to stick around. I managed to miss every show they ever played in Indy, but I've since seen 'em in Texas (go figure) and got to meet the lead singer and former Hoosier, Kris...

Atari Teenage Riot- I heard about 'em from a friend, but never really listened to 'em til another friend got the cd. We listened to it for a solid week. They're great cuz they mix techno, punk, and other music styles all together. One of the best live shows ever...

Hellbender- My friend owns the label that they're on, but that's not why I like 'em. They just rawk, ok? And the universal answer to the ever-popular question "What cd should I listen to?" - Hellbender.

Science Diet- I don't know exactly how to explain this band... just good. It's the kind of music that you listen to when you're sick of everything else - and it's great. Another really cool Behemoth band...

Crystal Method- Rawkin techno schtuff... what else can I say? You just hafta hear 'em... and they RULE in concert. They put on this incredibly high-energy show...

Neil Young- I've been listening to Neil ever since I can remember... he's just grown on me. I prefer his heavier stuff (esp. w/ Crazy Horse) but his solo stuff is good too. Neil's just the man. (ReAcTor used to be my favorite record when I was little, but only cuz it looked cool...)

Other bands I dig...
311, Ryan Adams, Aerosmith, Alice In Chains, America, Athenaeum, Avail, Bad Religion, the Beatles, Bis, Bleach, the Bouncing Souls, Bubblegum Crash, Buffalo Springfield, Chemical Brothers, Cheva, Chixdiggit, Chrome, Chrome Locust, Counting Crows, Creed, Crimpshrine, Crosby Stills & Nash, DENT, Dr. Dre, the Eagles, Econoline Crush, Eminem, Face to Face, Fifteen, Foo Fighters, Goo Goo Dolls, the Guess Who, Helios Creed, the Hellacopters, Jawbreaker, Jets to Brazil, Keoki, the Ketones, KISS, Kyuss, Lagwagon, Christopher Lawrence, Less than Jake, Linkin Park, the Lookouts, Lunatic Calm, Jesse Malin, Me First & the Gimme Gimmes, Medicated Becky, John Mellencamp, Metallica, Millencolin, Steve Miller, Moby, Mr. T Experience, MxPx, Nelly, the Network, NOFX, Paul Oakenfold, Pennywise, Tom Petty, Phasers on Stun, Iggy Pop, Queens of the Stone Age, the Queers, the Rolling Stones, RUN-DMC, Danny Sage, Schatzi, Sensefield, Simon & Garfunkel, the Sloppy Seconds, Soul Asylum, Splender, Squirtgun, the Suicide Machines, Texas is the Reason, Tin River Junction, Toad the Wet Sprocket, Paul Van Dyk, Welcome Jupiter, the Who, Yellowcard...
