The Toronto Scene
Record Stores
Who’s Emma, 66.5 Nassau St., Off Bathurst.
Books, music, zines, coffee
Who’s Emma was a great place to hang out in Kensington Market. It was completely volunteer-run, so the prices were reasonable, and the staff were friendly and helpful. Sadly, it has closed down.

Rotate This, 620 Queen St. W.
Records & CD’s (zines, too)
Rotate This is an awesome record store because it has a huge selection. Their prices are fair, most CD’s go for $17. Another thing I like about this place is that they accept Interac. Bonus!!

Full Blast, 605 Bloor St. W.
Records & CD’s (zines, too)
Full Blast isn’t my favourite place to shop, but there only are so many punk record stores in Toronto. This place is pretty small, and I don’t think there’s anywhere to sit down...
Skate Shops
Faktory, 360 Yonge St. (Just North of Dundas)
Skate in the summer, Snow in the winter
Faktory is probably the biggest and best skate shop in town, as well as the most conveniently located. They also carry in-line skates, clothing, videos, and more. A good place to just sit down and watch a skate video on their TV.

So Hip It Hurts, 323 Queen St. W. - 2nd floor
A bit of skate/snow stuff, and a whole lotta clothes.
So Hip is really mostly a clothing store, but they've got a skate/snow section in the back. A pretty cool place to go and just hang out.

Hogtown Exreme Sports, 401 King St. W., and also 3246 Danforth Ave.
Extreme sports, including skate, snow, surf, scoot
Not a bad place for skaters, and i bought a really cool backpack here too!! Also good for finding skate shoes.
