history
ed and jason started playing together in the summer of '92. ed was on guitar and jason was on bass. they went thru a bunch of drummers (2 boys, a girl, jason's english teacher), and the jason was promoted(?) to the position of "le drums".
in the fall of '95, jason met lisa at the record store where she works, and that's when she joined the band. This has been the line-up since then.
when they play live, it's mostly ed on guitar, jason on drums and lisa on bass. on some songs they switch instruments a la sebadoh or even like kate beckett. wow.
how they got the name "winnie"
after a bunch of totally whack names like "smear" and "marble", they were getting mighty desperate. at the time of this desperation, jason had a huge crush on a girl at his school who looked like winnie cooper (danica mckellar) from the hit tv show,
the wonder years. he would always refer to this girl as "winnie". One day ed suggested that the band be called winnie, in reference to the one and only. thee end.all pics by jason. ha ha ha. real fotos coming soon!!!!
